MINOLTA XD5 w/50mm
The Minolta XD-5 was the cheaper version of the XD-cameras. Some people say that it has several plastic parts which just look like metal parts. It has the same outer appearance as the XD-7, except the missing viewfinder ocular shuttering lever. Both models offer the choice of two automatic exposure modes: shutter-speed preferred or aperture preferred. In shutter preferred mode an aperture scale is shown in the viewfinder instead of the meter's shutter-speed scale. But the XD-5 shows does not show the actual selected speed and selected aperture in addition to that scale, as does the XD-7. For new preselections of shutter speed or aperture the XD-7 user can keep his eye on the viewfinder.
