Berlin Summer x Filmriss: Photowalk Vernissage & Party
This Saturday, Safelight Berlin teams up with Filmriss for a full day around
one theme:
Berlin Summer
The backstory
Filmriss opened a call this summer for photos on the theme "Berlin Summer" — any take on it, any part of the city. The community voted on all the submissions on the Filmriss website, and the winners will be discovered this Wednesday. Two days later, on Saturday, we celebrate everyone who took part.
The day, in two parts
3pm: Meet up & photowalk We start at Safelight. Grab your camera, meet the group, and head out with Filmriss for a photowalk through the city, starting and ending right at our door. While you're out shooting, we'll be back at the shop turning it into a gallery for the evening.
5pm: Vernissage & party Doors open, and the party starts:
- Every submission on display: all the open call entries, printed small (10×15 cm) and laid out on tables to flip through.
- The top 20, large format: the best-voted shots printed big and hung around the shop.
- Music to keep the afternoon going.
- Food from our friends at Gyoza to Sake.
- Giveaways throughout the evening.
No formal program after that... just food, music, prints on every wall and table, and a room full of people who shoot film.
