A disposable camera with a past life, and a timeless new look.

The SAFELIGHT “Smile” B&W takes used disposable cameras and gives them another run. Each camera is collected, rebuilt, and reloaded by hand in our Berlin lab using repurposed Kodak disposables and materials recovered from our own workflow wherever possible.

What started as a way to reduce waste inside the lab became something bigger: a circular system designed to keep film cameras in use instead of throwing them away.

Because “disposable” was always a bit of a lie.

Loaded with Kodak Double-X black and white film, this camera delivers rich contrast, classic grain, deep blacks, and a cinematic monochrome look inspired by traditional motion picture film stock. Raw, timeless, and made for the moments that feel better in black and white.
