V625U Battery

Replacement V625U / PX625A 1.5V alkaline battery for vintage analogue cameras and light meters originally designed for PX625, PX13 or MR-9 mercury batteries.

Many classic cameras from the 1960s and 70s used mercury batteries to power their built-in exposure meters. Since these batteries are no longer available, the V625U provides a practical, mercury-free replacement that fits the same battery compartment.

Important Voltage Note

The original PX625 mercury battery was 1.35V, while the V625U is 1.5V. Because of this difference, some camera light meters may read slightly differently. For the most accurate metering, a voltage-correct replacement such as the WeinCell MRB625 1.35V may be preferable.

For many photographers, the V625U remains a simple and affordable solution for keeping classic cameras working.
